Two more weeks to go and Tiebreaker Armageddon is becoming more and more likely........Self-Check grabs the inside track on the number 1 seed....... Squad fumbles away a chance at the number spot and allowed ASC to move into position to clinch a playoff spot.
Leaders of the Pack
#1 Self-Check (6-2) - Self-Check picked themselves up after a stunning loss to Monstars last week and rallied for a big win over G-Men to take over the #1 spot for the first time all season. Down 4 midway through the second half, Self-Check registered a 13-2 run to take control of the game. A likely win against Big Ballers next week will make their final game of the season vs. Squad a game that determines the #1 seed.
#2 G-Men (5-2) - After a spotless first half, the G-Men are finding tough sledding in the second half. They could not withstand a second half surge by Self-Check and now find themselves with a two game losing streak. Due to schedule hiccups, they will finish the season with 3 games in 4 days including games against frisky Bullets and Monstars teams, sandwiched around the last place Generals. They may need to sweep all three to ensure a playoff spot as risking Tiebreaker Armageddon may not get them in.
#3 Squad (6-2) How quickly fortunes change in this highly competitive winter league season. The Squad had stormed their way to the top last week and led by 4 with a minute left over ASC. However, two missed front ends of 1 and 1s later they were staring at a second loss and now face tough matchups with #1 Self-Check and defending summer league champs Durangos still remaining. 4 losses would have them on the outside looking in.
Challengers
#4 ASC (6-3) ASC pulled out a gritty win vs. Squad this week. Down 4 with a minute left, they scored the final 7 points to put them one win away from a likely playoff spot as they would be a likely beneficiary in Tiebreaker Armageddon: The SCENARIO .
#5 Monstars (6-2) - Monstars are staying in the race and will have a big say in how the playoffs turn out with games against G-Men and Durangos remaining. Win 2 and they are would be a surprising playoff participant. A split gets them their ticket to Tiebreaker Armageddon: THE RIDE
#6 (tie) Durangos (5-2) Continue to stay in the mix with another easy win agains last place Generals. A tough schedule was made even tougher by a re-schedule of next games from next week. They now finish with three tough teams in four days o finish the season against GDB, Monstars and Squad.
#6 (tie) GDB (5-3) - Ballers continue to stay alive with no room for error. A forfeit win this week keeps their playoff hopes alive and rooting for at least one of the teams ahead of them to stumble to 4 losses (especially, ASC or Squad).
Back of the Pack
#8 Bullets (3-5) - A forfeit loss continues a disappointing stretch for the Bullets, but they can still play the spoiler role with games left against ASC and G-Men.
#9 Joy Boys (3-6) - Joy Boys finishing out the string with another lackluster win over Kearney and the Generals the only team left on their docket.
#10 Big Ballers (3-6) - Forfeit against GDB sets them up for a final game against SC.
#11 Kearney (0-8) - showdown with Generals in the final week of the season might be the only win on the schedule.
#12 Generals (0-7) - New team in the league finding out that the level of play in Rec division is still strong. Looking towards final week showdown vs. Kearney.
Games to watch this week -
3/12 Bullet vs. ASC - A loss by ASC would have them on the outside of the playoff picture with everyone else having 2-3 games remaining. A win keeps them in the mix for a playoff berth.
Standings Key
Green means a win, Red means a loss, yellow is the game this week.
There are 10 games and 11 opponents for each team, so the column to the right is the team that is missed in the rotation.
