The Ballers rectified the defensive shortcomings that have seen them give up 74 and 58 points the last two weeks in a resounding 58-49 victory. The score is a bit closer than the manner in which the game was played, as GDB used a scrambling defense to swarm the Durangos, holding them to just 3 points in the first nine minutes of the game, and giving up a mere 28 points with six minutes remaining in the game.
On the other end of the court the Ballers featured a balanced scoring attack with Ed Reddick and newcomer James Chappell leading the way with a combined 29 points. The Ballers used a 12-0 run over the course of six shutout minutes to put a stranglehold on the game to go up 20 points (48-28) with six minutes remaining.
The Ballers will look to keep up the momentum with a pivotal showdown against the A-Team. The winner of this game likely has the inside track to the playoffs, while the loser will be on the outside looking in going into the final week of the regular season.
